A collaborative, open-source platform that strengthens how data is used, shared, and reused for social good.

Context:

CivicDataSpace is a collaborative, open-source platform that goes beyond just making data accessible - it strengthens how data is used, shared, and reused. By bringing together siloed datasets and fragmented resources, it enables transforming data into tools for change.

CivicDataSpace supports the formation of open, sector-specific Data Collaboratives which aim to make data more inclusive, interoperable, and AI-ready, helping policymakers, researchers, civil society actors, and changemakers design more effective and sustainable solutions for social good.

Under CivicDataSpace, thematic data collaboratives are being developed to strengthen sectoral knowledge ecosystems and enable collaborative data-driven innovation.

The Gender Data Collaborative brings together gender-disaggregated datasets and knowledge resources to better understand and address gender gaps across sectors. It supports inclusive policymaking, research, and responsible AI solutions.

The Climate Health Data Collaborative integrates climate and public health datasets to track climate-linked health risks and impacts. It enables evidence-based decision-making for more resilient and responsive health systems.

CivicDataSpace is currently gathering datasets across multiple sectors:

Child Rights, Climate Action, Coastal, Gender, Disaster Risk Reduction, Law and Justice, Public Finance, Urban Development.
